Children

Peek-A-Book Baby Storytime. Join Ms. Jodi for our new program for baby and mom/dad featuring stories, fingerplays and songs! Mondays, 10:30-11 a.m.

Stories with Grandma Carmel. Entertaining storytelling with stories personally selected by our Grandparent Storyteller. Mondays, 10 a.m.-noon

Paws to Read. Children read to therapy dog Sonny, a golden retriever, to gain confidence and practice reading aloud.
Mondays, June 2, 16 & 30; July 14 & 28, 4:30-6 p.m. No programs in August.

Toddler Storytime. Stories, songs, and playtime just for toddlers and their parents! Tuesdays, 10:15-10:45 a.m.

Preschool Storytimes. Featuring stories and songs for preschoolers. Tuesdays, 11:15-11:45 a.m.


Afternoon Stories and Craft (Grades K-5).

Radical Reptiles. A fascinating look into the world of bugs and reptiles; take a look at snakes, scorpions and other creepy crawlies. Tuesday, July 15, 4 p.m.

Circus Minimus. Marionette Circus puppet show; hands-on demonstration following the show! Tuesday, July 22, 4 p.m.

John Abrams’ Animal Magic. Magic show featuring live exotic pets.

Teens

Homework Helper Center-Tutoring.
Tutoring for middle school students in all subjects. Some textbooks are available. Tuesday-Thursday, 3:30- 4:30 p.m. Ends in June and resumes in September.

Dungeons & Dragons Club. Come play the classic game of adventure, space is limited. Mondays, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Anime/Manga Club.
Each week we discuss topics in Anime/Manga, watch old and new episodes of Anime and practice drawing characters. Wednesdays, 4-5 p.m.

Chess Club. Play in the tournament or just practice with your friends. No program during Summer Reading. Thursdays, 3:30-5 p.m.

Teen Advisory Group. Join this group to take an active part in your library! Members plan programs, select materials and help the community. Mondays, June 2, 16 & 30; July 14 & 28; August 11 & 25, 4-5 p.m.

Teen Book Club. Participants read and discuss books while munching on snacks. Mondays, June 2, 16 & 30; No program during July/August.

Axis & Allies Club. Take either side and control your country to victory on this board game based on World War II. Now also featuring D-Day! Fridays, June 6, 13 & 20; July 11 & 18; August 8, 15 & 29, 3:30-4:45 p.m.

Sandy Candy & Ribbon Jewelry.
Make ribbon jewelry for your friends or for yourself. Also make a decorative vial of colorful, and edible, sandy candy. Thursday, June 19, 4 p.m.

Guitar Hero. Transform yourself into a rock star! No experience playing guitar needed. Thursday, June 26, 4 p.m.

Jeopardy. Become a contestant on the library’s version of the game show and win prizes! Thursday, July 3, 4 p.m.

Dance Dance Revolution. Anybody can change into a dance pro with DDR! Play on large dance pads, four different games and hundreds of songs to choose from. Thursday, July 10, 4 p.m.

Traveling Pants. The Traveling Pants visits the Rancho San Diego Library; come for a variety of activities relating to the popular books. Thursday, July 17, 4 p.m.

Wii and Playstation 2. Turn into a video gamer by playing a variety of games on our Nintendo Wii and Playstation 2. Thursday, July 24, 4 p.m.

Movie.

The music of veteran singer/songwriter Michael Ganey is enjoyed by fans of all ages. Michael performs a wide range of styles, from Dylan to Willie Nelson to Van Morrison. His dynamic vocals, acoustic guitar and expressive flute combine to showcase a rare talent. Tuesday, June 3, 6:30 p.m.

First Tuesday Series. Local author Robert Brenner converted his suburban San Diego home to solar power and chronicled his experience in his book Going Solar. Brenner offers a presentation about the process including choosing a contractor and applying for tax rebates. Tuesday, July 1, 6:30 p.m.

Author Talk. Pick up great tips from Boost Your Self-Esteem author, Linda Meckler. Friday, July 11, 2 p.m.

Author Visit. Meet and Great Dr. Tea, author of the Ultimate Tea Diet. Learn the differences between different types of teas, how to properly brew tea, cook with tea rubs, and the effect of tea on the metabolism. Tuesday, July 17, 6 p.m.
